2025 Women’s Kabaddi World Cup postponed again

  • The 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup has been put on hold indefinitely.
  • Original dates: August 3 to 10, 2025.
  • Venue: Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
  • Initially scheduled in Rajgir, Bihar, but later relocated to Hyderabad.
  • Reason for change: Bihar withdrew from hosting responsibilities.
  • Bihar had also hosted the inaugural edition in 2012.
  • Delay in submission of administrative details by team contingents.
  • Caused issues in getting necessary clearances from Ministries.
  • Cited in a letter from Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) to the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF).
  • No alterations to the list of participating countries will be allowed.
  • New dates are expected to be announced soon.
  • Tentatively, the tournament may take place in Hyderabad after the Pro Kabaddi League, which begins August 29 in Vizag.
