BCCI Terminates Jersey Sponsorship Deal with Dream11; Toyota Reportedly Interested in New Partnership

Major multinational companies often compete and invest heavily to secure this sponsorship for the immense brand visibility it offers.

Dream11 was the previous jersey sponsor for Team India, with a deal reportedly valued at around ₹358 crore upon renewal.

The company’s logo featured prominently on the Indian cricket team’s jersey during its sponsorship tenure.

Recently, the Indian government announced a ban on all money-based gaming applications, which directly impacted Dream11’s core business model.

In response to the regulatory changes, Dream11 has halted its paid fantasy gaming operations and has stopped accepting monetary transactions.

Following this development, the BCCI officially terminated its sponsorship contract with Dream11.

The BCCI has also expressed a firm stance against associating with money-based gaming platforms in the future.

Amid this transition, global automobile manufacturer Toyota has reportedly shown interest in becoming the new jersey sponsor for Team India.

Toyota sees this potential sponsorship as a strategic move to strengthen its brand presence in the Indian subcontinent market.

Discussions between Toyota and the BCCI are reportedly underway, and a deal could be finalized in the near future.
