🇮🇳 India finishes second with 24 medals at Asian Athletics Championships 2025 🇰🇷
Over 60 Indian athletes competed at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea, from May 27–31, where over 2000 athletes participated. India took part in 30 medal events and ended with an impressive 24 medals, finishing second overall, just behind China.
- Servin Sebastian opened India’s account with bronze in the men’s 20km race walk.
- Gulveer Singh won double gold in 5000m and 10000m.
- Rupal Chaudhary was the first Indian woman on the podium with silver in the 400m.
- Mixed 4x400m relay team defended their title with a new lineup.
- Subha Venkatesan and Rupal also helped clinch gold in the women’s 4x400m relay.
- Jyothi Yarraji retained her 100m hurdles title.
- Avinash Sable made history in steeplechase, winning India’s first gold in 36 years.
