Indian Para-Badminton athlete Manasi Girishchandra Joshi Won Gold

Indian Para-Badminton athlete Manasi Girishchandra Joshi won a gold medal in women’s singles at Para-Badminton World Championship scheduled to be held from 20-25 August 2019 in Basel, Switzerland
She had also won Bronze Medals in different competitions which are as follows :

2015 medal in mixed doubles, Para-Badminton World Championships- Stoke Mandeville, England.
2016 Bronze in women’s singles & women’s doubles, Para-Badminton Asian Championship- China
2017 Bronze in women’s singles, Para-Badminton World Championships- Basel, Switzerland
2018 Bronze in women’s singles, Thailand Para-Badminton International- Thailand
2018 Bronze in women’s singles, Asian Para Games 2018- Jakarta, Indonesia

Education: Electronics Engineering from K J Somiya College of Engineering University Mumbai, in 2010.

When she had decided to play for the National team: At the age of 6, she started playing badminton but never continued as a professional player. In 2011, she met with an accident while riding a motorbike to work and her one leg got amputated. In order to curb the trauma of losing one leg, during her treatment she used to play badminton. She used to play so well that another Para-badminton player asked her to try for the national team. Based on the suggestion she joined Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad and played the first tournament in Spain.
