Amit Khatri won India’s second medal at the World U20 Athletics Championships in Nairobi by claiming silver in the 10,000-person race. Amit finished the race with an impressive 42 minutes and 17.94 seconds to finish second.
Amit became just the fifth Indian athlete to win a medal at the World U20 Athletics Championship. It was India’s first international medal in the race. This was the 6th medal in the history of Indian sports. This is the second silver after Seema Antil (discus throw) in 2002. Neeraj Chopra (Javelin throw) and Hima Das (400 Women) won gold in the Year 2016 and Year 2018 respectively
अमित खत्री ने 10,000 व्यक्तियों की दौड़ में रजत का दावा करते हुए नैरोबी में विश्व U20 एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में भारत का दूसरा पदक जीता। अमित ने 42 मिनट और 17.94 सेकेंड के साथ दौड़ पूरी की और दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया।
अमित विश्व U20 एथलेटिक्स चैम्पियनशिप में पदक जीतने वाले सिर्फ पांचवें भारतीय एथलीट बन गए। यह दौड़ में भारत का पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय पदक था। यह भारतीय खेलों के इतिहास में छठा पदक था। 2002 में सीमा अंतिल (चक्का फेंक) के बाद यह दूसरा रजत है। नीरज चोपड़ा (भाला फेंक) और हिमा दास (400 महिला) ने क्रमशः वर्ष 2016 और वर्ष 2018 में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।
